I haven't heard of it for a while...

I think dumbangel is talking about a different book. This one here:Leopold wrote:I've had a friends copy for about a year. good book, lots of details.

Actually, I think Brian Kehew is on the TOMB sometimes.
i have the complete beatles recording sessions book:
and it rulez. track and session sheets from basically every session in an 8 year period of the beatles in the studio. insane. it doesn't really go into technique or equipment though, unfortunately.. just more a general studio process.
but THAT one, that one looks great.

Knowing all the crazy-ass sounds that are on Beatles recordings, it would be interesting to know exactly what they used. George didn't always play a Gretsch, Ringo didn't always play the drums, etcjoeysimms wrote:What porn?? Plus, your only hope at achieving any work equal to the Beatles is to quit according them god status and to simply get down to writing and recording.

Well yeah, but doen't reading about this stuff make you WANT to go write and record? Maybe try a differant mic placement, or buy a Fairchild Limiter?
Yes, I am one of THOSE people, up in the attic, trying to recreate the magical sounds of my youth (cheap trick, boston, pavement) on the family 8 track recorder.
