When you say "best" do you mean best songs? Performance? Production?

That medley Bob Marley did on the Songs of Freedom box set with an out of tune guitar stands out to me.

The first a silver mt. zion record was done on a Tascam 38.. a deck most people consider to be the.. um.. I dunno, the Cutlass Supreme of 8-track decks? Sorry, I don't know enough about cars. It's a workable deck, but not something you would put on a list of your dream gear, or even your dream 1/2" 8-tracks.

I think the self-titled Hangedup record was done on the same deck, and that album is really something, performance-wise.

This local band here that was called Fracasos. They recorded stuff on 4-track tape cassettes, minidisks and a few other things and with radioshack mics! They are they band that inspired me to start recording. They were very lo fi recordings and it worked to thier advantage.

The first Latin Playboys recording was largely done on a 4-track cassette and sounds great...

One of my favorite recordings....
