I think most of the "funny" stuff that happens is a bit too much of an inside-joke. I'd rather watch a show that was like "The Office" (BBC version) or "The Newsroom" but in the studio. Dry frustration of the studio would translate better than a reality-show type thing... so a docu-drama is what it would be? Docu-comedy?

Most engineers/producers I know (including myself) aren't all that funny in the belly-gut ha-ha sorta way (that's if you exclude Phil Spector's white-man fro), but most are dead-pan straight-man dry sense of humor. Would the general public embrace such inside jokes?

I suppose musicians would... to a degree... but would those musicians understand that most engineers/producers are making jokes at the bands expense for purely cynical reasons?

I guess most stand-up comics venting about other topics do it for the same reasons (Lenny Bruce, Bill Hicks, Dennis Leary, etc). I guess, for me, it's too close to home that I'd rather not see it. Kinda like how much I understand what the judges for American Idol go thru during the initial casting calls, it's hard for me to watch.

Where's Neil Hamburger when you need him?
