I am looking for acoustic treatment for my home studio and have read that real traps is probably the best stuff available. I like the idea of the mondo room kit but is it worth $2300!? I am to busy and everything to DIY, I'd rather have something professional anyway. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this kit or could reccomend something just as effective and perhaps less expensive.
Thanks!
Real Traps Mondo Room Kit...Is it worth it, etc?

$2300 to make a room sound good seems pretty cheap in the long run...

I own 6 real traps
2 mondo
4 regular
I can hear the change, and its working for my needs.
20'x30' room, and 6 seems like a good amount.
I move them around while tracking, and find where they help the most.
Building a realtrap tunnel for guitar amps is fun, they can make a track really dry.
If I was in a larger room, I'd build some 703 DIY traps.
I say get the real traps, buy as many as you think you'll need, its money well spent, and I don't know of a better treatment company.

I bought 4 RealTraps for my control room, which is tiny (10'x12'). I mounted the first two above each monitor, where the ceiling meets the back wall, and heard a striking difference.hang the blessed dj wrote:a friend of mine bought 4 of the real traps, supposely there is some difference but to show exellent results you need to buy at least 8 of them.
i think they are one of the best bass traps available, if you have the money i would invest in them.
It was not subtle. And I'm not claiming to be one of the Golden Ears.
The second pair I mounted made even more of a difference, but just the first two was stunning in its difference, especially where the imaging was concerned, but also making the bass response more "solid" and present and less boomy.
My singer, who has trouble hearing subtleties in a mix, immediately heard the imaging and commented on it.
These things work extremely well.

They will make a good difference if used properly..
They are actually probably some of the least inexpensive good commercial treatments available..
Check out the price on RPG treatments and traps..they are a great acoustics company with great products..much more expensive than Ethan's products..
the cheapest way to do it is DIY but you dont have the time right so..
