Re: Must have VSt plugins.
i use the stock plugs that came with cubase and tracktion2.
call me crazy, but i like to get it right at the source. if you do this, you'll get great results with just about any plugin, if you apply it right.
those hard to spell plugins that start with a "k" are pretty great as well. i use them from time to time. they look like little half-rack modules.
the mda plugs are pretty good.
i use diamond bundle for digital mastering inside wavelab, but they're useless inside anything else.
the plugs that i use the most are the urs api and neve module clone eq's.
when i bought the cheap tascam interface for my in home setup, i also bought the blue tubes stuff. these plugs are actually pretty good. not as nice as the mda stuff, but nice.
that's my opinion.

Free VSTs are great. I highly recommend Ambience. It is a free reverb plug in and it is great sounding!

Hmmm, throughout my entire ITB life the only plugin that I've used and never given up on is the TC Natives reverb plugin.
I have certain favorites now, and had had others in the past, but I've just realized that's the one plugin that never disapoints me, get's used on at least one track in almost every session, and is the only plugin that has been stuck with me from the begining.

A company called "URS" makes some vst eq's. They modeled them after the pultec, neve and api modules. There's one in there that looks kinda like an older ssl eq. ill have to read the manual. i don't use it that much. i mainly use the api and neve eq's.operator_tape wrote:who makes the neve clone eq's and api urs?
they're great. go buy them. best eq plugins you'll ever get your hands on.
