I was actually looking for piano type keyboards, not computer types.

I do like ergonomic keyboards though. Wireless are also nice.

You say piano...so do you want real, acoustic samples? Or do you want (subtractive) synthy 'synth' sounds, lotsa bleeps and squaks?

They're practically giving away pianos and organs on craigslist.

Or in my case, they actually are free. I love finding random things on craigslist.

I'm hoping for a keyboard that will have some good cheesy/weird sounds. I obviously don't expect a good piano sound out of a keyboard for under $50.

I've been stoked on my little yamaha keyboard lately. I think its a ps140 or something. Its a little older. Maybe early 90's or something.
Got it at a thrift store for 6 bucks.

The sounds are totally cheesy and lo-fi. But they are so lo-fi that they actually sound really cool.
For instance- on the sounds that are supposed to have a slow decay or reverb you can hear all the crappy digital processing working its hardest to sound authentic but coming no where close ! So you get a weird digital grit and modulation.

Almost essential for these crappy keyboards though is a distortion pedal. Give some mojo to the cheese.

Older Casio's can be really cool too. My casiotone 1000p has been rocking my world lately. Casio can also really suck though. bad.
