Anyone know of any retail stores in or near Chicago where one can by flux remover? I have extra time this weekend to complete my Oktava 012 Dorsey Mod and I don't want to wait for mail order. If there was a store I could drive to, I'd just go there. NW suburbs would be best. Anyone?
I also heard that paint thinner could work. Any thoughts on that? I sure don't want to learn the hard way it doesn't

Depending upon how "nasty" the flux is (Kester "44" is especially messy), denatured alcohol sometimes works....sold in hardware stores in the paint section.

Another excellent flux remover is CarboSol, sold at many hardware stores or big box places like Menards.
It's a functional replacement for TriChlor, the wonder chemical that we can't use anymore thanks to the greenie idiots...
