Chris Isaak guitar sound
I know I may be branded as an outcast for professing my enjoyment of Chris Isaak music, but hopefully I am not the only one out there.
Does anyone know how to recreate the nice warm guitar sound he has on alot of his songs. I am thinking specifically of "I Wonder" from Baja Sessions.
Just looking for generalities here (single coil, neck pickup, close micing, eq, whatever), not specific pieces of equipment.
Thanks.

I was going to ask the EXACT same question a couple of weeks ago. Baja Sessions sounds so fantastic.californiawizkids wrote:I know I may be branded as an outcast for professing my enjoyment of Chris Isaak music, but hopefully I am not the only one out there.

Surely there were Bigsby-equipped Gretsches.

Learn something new every day
wow. I guess I figured there had to be some studio brilliance going on in that tune, but I never thought it was so involved?especially with MIDI. It sounds a lot more like a Nine Inch Nails session than what you'd think for Chris Isaak. Learn something new every day....
