Post by amishsixstringer » Wed Mar 08, 2006 6:08 pm

Hey guys, I'm really really new to home made gear, but I have a small background in electronics and am dangerous with a soldering iron, but I'm having a tough time finding a distributor of opamps, VCA's etc that will sell small quanities to a d civillian. Any help would be great! Thanks.

Also, Allied Electronics and Newark Electronics. Like Digikey, they have a $25 minimum order, while Mouser has no minimum.

All four have extensive websites with good search functions, plus they will mail you HUGE paper catalogs for free. Newark currently wins the size war at 2472 pages. However, Mouser and Digikey send out their catalogs (each around 1700 pages) four times per year.

There is a fair amount of product overlap between the four, but each has stuff not found at the other distributors.
