The very first thing that leapt into my mind was the Tranzport DAW controller and that is less than 200.

If I'm allowed more than one item my Sennheiser MD409 kicks ass and I love my Leslie Model 16.

well, like mention above, most of my stuff is below the $600 mark anyway, cept my console, computer, and maybe my monitors (KRK 7000's, but i think i might have paid too much for them, but a crown amp came with the deal)

so i'd say my,

AT4047 (as a lot of others have posted)
mk(mc)012's (as a lot of others have posted)
TOMB ribbon
421's
ART PROVLA (as a lot of otgher have posted)
and the rigid fiberglass to help out the two rooms.
oh, and my home made speaker stands made out of that black plastic piping, sand, and concrete "stepping stones" all material found at Home Despot.

Oh, and Joel H, was it the 160X, 160XT, or 160A you mentioned that doesn't do too much to the sub-bass?

160X.
That is why I use the "A" at infinity to 1 to squeeze the return from the DBx sub synth...

I think it is really because of an impedance mis match between the 120A and the 160X or something. Totally weird... But neither of my "x"'s will compress stuff under about 60hz. totally weirdo.

I got mine from a guy that refurbs and tests all his stuff and they are minty. I got mine when everyone and their dog wanted old white 421's a couple years ago and they were consistently going for around $400 on ebay so I figured I will play it safe and get them from a dealer. I would love a couple more, especially at $200 ea.

A lot of my favorite stuff fits into that price range....

SM7
EV 635A
EV 666
M160 (I don't know what they are currently but mine were $575 at the time)
AT4047 (love em!)

SansAmp Bass DI

The Hamptone JFET
Seventh Circle stuff (kinda stretching, I know because there is the initial investment but after the power supply, you're talking like under $300 a channel. After that intial investment there is no better deal for 8 pres anywhere that I know of.)

I'd even have to mention the Drewtronics Sher-lock just because for what I paid for it, I really got my money's worth out of it. It's one trick but a fun one!
