Orange County Speaker Bulk Cable

Post by bluesman » Tue Apr 04, 2006 7:02 am

Does anyone know about the quality of the bulk mic cable offered by Orange County Speaker....I might have asked this question before but never got a satisfactory answer. How does it compare to Belden, Mogame etc. I'd love to order some more cable.....but this stuff is sooooooo afordable it has me spooked.

thanks!

I've bought compression drivers from them b4 for a good price and they are very easy to deal with. As for the cable thou I cannot say.

I might add that I bought 20 of their pre-made mic cables & I have found that the xlr female is an irregular (larger) size than normal (Switchcraft & Neutrik= normal). I no longer use any of them for fear of damaging my microphones trying to remove the plug!

Why bother with cheap mic cable when you can get Canare StarQuad for $.36 a foot? I get mine at http://www.markertek.com and http://www.redco.com
http://www.bayoucables.com - custom cables, tubes, bass wiring and parts, and more

http://www.bayoucables.com/altec/ - altec info page

Thanks....I believe that you are right! I need to stop wishing for quality in cheep products. The fact that the xlr that is sold by Orange County Speaker is of an irregular size should have alerted me to the fact that quality control might not be their highest priority.
