otari mx5050 track 8 not recording

Post by jmpizzoferrato » Sun May 14, 2006 5:13 pm

i have one of the mx5050s in two pieces.. one for modules, one for the transport. it sounds great and works like a charm but track 8 isn't recording properly.

it sounds like a very tiny amount is getting to the track but not erasing or recording anywhere near a nominal level. the input level is fine but the output is is almost inaudible.

any ideas what this could be?

I have one of those also. Have you aligned and calibrated it recently? It is an older machine right? The original 5050? I need an owners manual for mine so I can work on it and fix it up. Can you help me out????
