another digi 001 question:

Post by wallace » Wed May 17, 2006 8:46 pm

I have a problem getting MP3s or CDs to play back through the SPDIF outputs of my 001. I can get Windows Media Player (it's the only playback application that works right now) to play through the headphones of my 001, but I want to listen back through my DAC-1, which is hooked up through my SPDIF. When I go to Control Pannel, Sound and Audio Devices, Audio, the default playback is the "001-Channel 1-2". Is there a way to reroute the output to Channel 17-18 (SPDIF)?

Thanks.

I forget where the option is, but you want to set Protools to do S/PDIF output mirroring, where it sends whatever is going through Analog 1 & 2 to the S/PDIF out as well.

I tried to enable SPDIF Mirroring in the hardware setup but it goes away once I close the session. Is there another location where I can switch to SPDIF mirroring, or can I keep it enabled once I close Pro Tools.

I only want to listen to Cds and MP3s through my converters. Is this possible in 6.4?

I do it all the time. Have you set your audio midi setup for using the 001 as your main output?

Rodgre,

Are you talking about the setting in the control pannel? Yes, that is set to Digi 001, Analog 1-2. The Advanced tab is greyed out, so I can't change to output 17-18 there. I can't seem to enable SPDIF mirroring pro tools (when I reopen a session it's back to normal). My default midi device is the 001.

Do I have to change something with the core audio driver?

Thanks,
Kevin

Does core audio load (see it in the dock? ) when you use itunes or whatever?

You should be able to make the proper selsctions in the digi core audio window at that point.
