old g4 and adat edit card

Post by yardleyone » Wed May 31, 2006 10:08 am

I've got a 350 m g4 an adat and the adat soundcard that alesis manufactured to go with their adat edit program. I don't care much for the adat edit software. I'm looking for recommendations for some tracking software that would run well on my system with which I can use the alesis soundcard. The computer has 764m of ram in it.

thanks,
ben

alesis adat/edit

hiya. The alesis support website stats that any program that runs ASIO drivers will work with that card. I am am not sure if that card can run on osX. (i kinda doubt it..) And if this is the case then you will be limited to older versions of sequencer/DAW programs that run on OS 9.
These older versions can sometimes be found for cheeeep on the used market. just do your research and make sure that the software will run on your current system.

I just saw cubase 5 on ebay for 10$. I've used cubase 5 and was quite happy with it.
Logic Audio 3? 4 and 5 may also be good bets. (Adat Edit software was based on logic i believe.)

good luck and tell us how it works out.
and consider yourself brave for using any old alesis product
