Midi Controller

Post by d-bolan » Thu Jun 08, 2006 5:00 pm

I got a midi controller from a friend. I'm wondering if there are any free programs/software i can download to use with it? I have the version of reason that came with my LE, but it's confusing. Anything simple i can use with pt le? Thanks

Simpler than Reason? I doubt it.

What kind of MIDI controller do you have?

Reason can be a bit daunting at first with all the routing possibilities. Spend a little time with it, and you may grow to really like it. It is my favorite sequencer because it is real easy to come up with original sounds.

If you are talking about a MIDI keyboard, that is very simple to use. You just tell the software which MIDI input to use, and then arm the desired track for MIDI control. If it is a control surface you have, the setup is a little more. I think in Reason you will have to select individual knobs/sliders and then manually asign them to a control on your control surface. There may be some templates though, I'm not sure. I only have a keyboard.
