Cool recording books

Post by Fieryjack » Mon Jun 12, 2006 4:03 pm

So there are a few new cool recording-related books out there.....First, there is one by Jeff Tousseau, whose written some articles for Tape Op too.....

Got this and its great. Cool pics, tons of interviews.....great production value.

Also, Heather Johnson of Mix just finished a book about SF recording studios, past and present. If you live in the area wd be a cool read! Don't have this one yet, but looks good.

Here is the updated version of my old favorite "The Art of Record Production", called "THE ART OF MUSIC PRODUCTION" by Richard James Burgess. I have not read the new verson yet, but my old copy is well tattered after being read several times myself plus all the people who have borrowed it over the past few years. Since the old version is a good read, all bets are that the new version is just as good.

I just borrowed a book from the library called Home Recording Studio: Build it Like the Pros ....

haven't read much of it yet, but upon skimming through the chapters, it seems to be be pretty comprehensive. should be helpful.

www.theprojectstudiohandbook.com. It's free. And I haven't bought a book since I started reading it.
