Shipment date will not be correlated to payment date - adds too much overhead to a volunteer effort.

Looks like the re-branders are not exactly free-speech advocates...

The organizers of the Great Mic Import group buy received the email message below from the vendor this morning. Per his request I have removed general pricing from the FAQ on the Yahoo! goups site and removed pricing documents from the files section.

This is the only information I have.

Of course discussion about this development is welcome, sorry to be
the bearer of bad news - Michael

Dear Chance and Mickel,

How are you!

Today I get a information from internet, which you organize
microphone group buy on internet, please see the document as attached
document. (Group buy FAQ was attached - mj)

We are greatly appreciated your interest in our microphone products,
but we do not accept this kind of business way from internet, also
please do not put the the price list which I quote for you on
internet, this is a private information between us, so please delete
the information from the internet and stop this kind of business way
immediately, because it has deeply hurt our other customer's benefit,
such as Nady, Apex etc. Otherwise we are afraid that we would not
accept your any order in the future, also the inquiry will be refused.

We are very sorry if it cause you any inconvenience, but I sincerely
hope you can understand our situation. If you have any other better
advice, please let me know freely.

"stop this kind of business way immediately" (Does he mean that he doesn't want price estimates from past or future group buys advertised on Yahoo Groups, or that the Yahoo Group ceases to exist entirely?)

"Otherwise we are afraid that we would not
accept your any order in the future, also the inquiry will be refused" (Does this mean that the deal is off? Momentarily? For good? or until the Group is cancelled, or until certain pricing is deleted fromt the Group?)

Oy, I was looking forward to this buy. I had even decided on 5 friggin mics. 5! Crazy. Okay, anyway I'm reading my digest daily from yahoo, but would love to hear your replies here too Michael, if you have time. Thanks.

Yeah, the meaning of the vendo'rs text is hard to understand.

I've asked for clarification on all those points. I have deleted stand-alone pricing documents and indicated my willingness to delete threads that contain pricing information if that is what he is requesting. But I politely told him I have no intention of removing The Great Mic Import group from the Internet as it serves as a useful forum to discuss the group buy concept.

So is the group buy done then? Not suprising considering all the people bitching "how much?! where are the prices?!" and "what are the corresponding models from other companies?!@!"

Why couldn't people just be quiet about the whole thing and enjoy it for what it was....
