Digi 001 in OSX 10.4 and beyond

Post by charlievela » Sun Jun 18, 2006 12:27 am

I just updated my G4 to Tiger. Now my digi 001 core audio driver doesn't work. I know they stopped supporting it, but is there a compatible driver floating around out there? I looked on digidesign's site, but no luck (that new page is pretty difficult to navigate so perhaps I'm missing something) ANy help would be greatly appreciated. For now i'm stuck listening to music off of the little internal speaker. Someone deliver me!

OS 10.3.4 is the last supported version according to Digidesign. There are folks using a Digi001 with versions up to 10.3.9, but it simply doesn't work with 10.4x.

I tried higerh 10.3.x versions (above 10.3.4). Didn't work right. I'm at 10.3.4 and I'm not going anywhere.

Thanks everyone. I think i'm going to stick with 10.4 and get a new interface. I don't really do much work on this mac anymore. It's mostly a personal PC that's occasionally used for audio. Besides I don't think I can give up widgets and spotlights now that i've tried them out.

damnit.. i just installed tiger last night and found this out when i went to run my itunes in osX... no selection for using the digi 001 in the audio preferences..

i still boot up in 9 to use the digi 001 with my protools... but my itunes is on 10. looks like i'll be routing the headphone jack out the back and into my board.. lame.

I'm at 10.3.9 and running smoothly. I had to get my Mac repaired and the guy that repaired did me a "favor" by upgrading my machine to 10.4 without asking. I guess his intentions were nice but that was a big pain in the ass.

crap, even quicktime isn't working, and i downloaded an upgrade.. not pro, but just the free 7.0 whatever quick time. When i try to watch porn, and its quicktime, i only get the audio, no video... lame.

I'm using a PowerMac G4 with a 1.8 Ghz upgrade, OSX 10.4.10 and a Digi 001. I am using The Digideign Core Audio Driver 6.92. Works fine with everything. I've been in contact with a gentlemen from Australia, who did much of the leg work on this. But, I can use Logic Express and Ardour, as well as Garageband, iTunes and more with my Digi 001 in Tiger land.

I'll search for the instructions.
[email me if it's a rush... homershines@yahoo.c-o-m]

Peace.

wow, that would be AWESOME!
as long as it doesn't interfere with anything when i boot up in os9 for a PT session.

instructions would be great, as for i'm completely 'toopid when it comes to computer stuff.
