Smassey's new limiter pissed on my expensive plugs....

Post by Quest Poetics » Mon Jun 26, 2006 4:49 pm

Look I swear to god I'm not just buying into the apperant hype that these plugs are getting...I am overwhelmed w/ the quality of this new limiter plug of his...It literally unzipped its pants and took a dirty piss all over my waves L2 ultramaximizer...It adds "musical" color to a drum bus...Hell I'm listening to my drum bus right now and it's freaking jumping out at me...Not necessarily just because its loud, but it's as though the drums were in some iron kids white bread w/ grape jelly alone, I took one bite and realized that I desperately needed some Jiffy! This plug is freaking Jiffy to my drum bus sandwich...I know I'm a moron for my description but I'm really tired of "punchy, sharp, focused etc.."

Go get it now and then buy it ....Great work Smassey!!! I still think you sold your soul for these plugs...Peace!

The whole bundle is great. Steve really has something here.... Look forward to the future of Massey plugs and software in general....

If you havent gotten these plugs yet you are missing out on some of the best, regardless of price, and these are CHEAP!!! amazing.

I agree. I couldn't stomach the waves price tag / ass pain ratio
The Massey is phenomenal.
Hopefully this is a portent of things to come... perhaps other plug-in developers will drop prices to compete... perhaps they will sell more plug-ins because of this.

Damn, cause I am really really wanting something like this...a suite of basic stuff I will use on every damned song. There are lots of swell plugin effects out there, but really kickass bread and butter is a challenge at that price.

The eq and tape head are the ones I bought now and am going to buy the comp & limiter next. I have tried many different eq plugs and some really sounded good but the vt3 really improved some of my tracks. It is so simple but sounds so good. Tape head sounds really awesome on my drum bus. I started mixing again with my ears instead of my eyes.

I agree that the Massey Limiter is awesome. Easily blows away the L2. Easily. And I will say that Waves can kiss my ass. Fuck Waves and their ridiculous prices and fucking upgrade bullshit. I had the Waves Diamond Bundle and out of 30 or so plugins, maybe 3 of them were useful.

Sorry for the rant.

Keep them coming, Massey! Your stuff rules.

please, since you aren't making your prices rediculous, make your plug ins work with all the software out there that isn't overpriced and a closed format.... i have no reason to believe that your sales would do anything but grow dramatically if you offered Audio Units and VST versions of these plugins. I know I would buy them for my Logic rig in a second. Cool products like this make me hate the closed nature of Digidesign... having a proprietary format even for their NATIVE plugins... it's not like their native shit works any better than (or as well as) anything else.
