OS 9 interface

Post by alex matson » Sat Aug 12, 2006 3:49 pm

I've posted a few times here about my desire to upgrade virtually everything in my studio but my monitors. I've decided that my system is actually fine for now...maybe another year. Currently, I'm just tracking myself or overdubbing a friend. My system's a Mac G4 450, with Cubase VST 5/32, a Tascam US-224, Art Prochannel, and a Lacie 60 gig Firewire drive. I'm guessing the Tascam is the weak link in the audio chain. so...
I've noticed that the current lineup of interfaces don't support OS 9. Given that spending a grand on something that I'll want to upgrade next year is probably not the best idea, does anyone have any recommendations on something I can probably pick up secondhand that'll work, be a significant improvement, and comes in under $500 or so? tankyouveddymuch.

I have a Motu 2408 MK2 that I'm getting rid of for $350 obo, if you're interested. Sounds good, pretty flexible. Don't know how it compares to the Tascam though.
