uninstalling software on a mac

Post by texlop » Sun Sep 10, 2006 2:39 am

how do you do it. With windows it usually is right next to the startup icon in the start applications menu or you can control panel and romove software but how do you go about doing it on a mac. I'm running Mac OS X 10.3.9. I can't find it in the help section and I've looked through windows. Is it just a simple drag to the trash can or is it something more complicated?

Please fill me in
thanks

Click on your hard drive. Go to the Applications folder (in the left-hand navigation bar). Find the program you want to delete (it may just be an application, or it may have a folder with the app and a bunch of other stuff in it). Drag that to the trash can. Done :D

Sometimes a software installation leaves a buch of stuff all over the place, though,so simply trashing the app doesn't get rof everything... what then?
Some installers make installation logs, documenting what was installed and where, and can be used as a map to getting rid of all the other bits.
Don't trash anything you're not 100% sure you don't need for something else, though!
