a bit on the expensive side but man, these things rock!!!!!! especially for drummers or monitoring things out in the field!!!!! they have the popular 7506 sony drivers.

I have used the Audio Technica ATHM-40fs for a few years now and could not be happier.

They are totally comfortable - sound excellent and they only cost about $80...i have 3 pairs at the moment.

Hope this helps.

I have several of these.

Unless you go with something like extreme isolation headphones (which dont sound very good IMO), these are your best bet.

that link is bad - can you resend the model name?

to clarify - i want to be track quiet vocals/acoustic stuff and not hear
click or just general headphone bleed when i compress later..... they need to be good sounding and well balanced for singers etc.

( btw this hasn't seemed to be a problem on drums so it's not really for that)

I've had good luck my my AKG K271's... similar style to the 240's, but closed-back. They're comfy and not fatiguing at all.

I'm partial to the HD240s, my roommate's alarm went off once (the annoying buzzing/shrieking kind) and I could barely hear it.

My friend just bought some sort of Beyerdynamic somethings and theyhave amazing isolation. Extremely comfortable too.

HD280 pro has about 32db of attenuation and sounds reasonably good. If you want to go beyond that for isolation and still have decent sounding cans I think your only choice is the aforementioned HN7506's but they're around $250 or so.

If I were spending a lot of time doing mic placement on roaring 4x12 cabs at full tilt I'd definitely spring for a pair of those but for what you're talking about I bet the 280pro's will be fine. They also seal very tightly to the head which prevents leakage.

I second Seth here, Sennheiser HD280 cans can be had for under 100 bucks, have decent bass and exaggerated highs, they stick to your head supersupergood.

Beyerdynamic DT770 pro. Go to a GC and tell them you wanna pay 140 for them, they are normally sold for 200. Awesome isolation, great sound quality. Extremely comfortable.
