I just got mine today. Holy crap is this packaging insane. Regardless of what you think about the point of buying this book, this package is ridiculously beautiful. More later.

Eh, I'd go with so-so :D

How much did these books run again? I'd be interested in reading it, in my non-existent spare time.

I think Mrs. Mjau is gonna pick it up for me for the holidays, so I'll have to wait until then to see it. Can't wait, though.

I got mine yesterday and all I can say is WOW!!!

It has far exceeded my expectations, what a beautifully done book. The extras are awesome too. I was stunned by the layout, pics, and just the sheer amount of info. Thanks guys, this book is incredible!

Extras: Poster of the Abbey Road console with each knob, button etc. explained

copies of photos taken in the studio by one of the engineers (I forget which one..)

Copy of a funny postcard from fans

copy of an inter-office memo circa 1968 explaining why the new 8 trach machine isn't ready for Beatle sessions

double sided copy of the original lyric scrawlings of Lennon for A Day in the Life

Simulated info sheets for a Beatles session

bookmark with a neumann on it

I'm at work & can't check but that's what i remember

The book is HEAVY and comes in a cool box/sleeve that looks just like an EMItape box. The are FREAKING DIAGRAMS OF HOW THE BAND WAS SET UP IN STUDIO 2 FOR PARTICULAR SONGS for godsakes!! I can't even begin to scratch the surface of the photos and info on damn near every piece of gear in Abbey Road, including individual pianos, organs, etc!

This book is insane, it seems completely reasonable how long it took to be created.

That would have made it way better, obviously.

Seriously, I just opened mine. HOLY SHIT. It's BEAUTIFUL. The tape box slipcase is genius...this is going to supply countless hours of really interesting reading. If it doesn't render me sterile by its huge weight on my lap.
