Plug In Vocal Remover?

Post by deadair » Tue Sep 26, 2006 7:38 am

I'm doign this project with someone where for fun they just want to add their own vocals to older songs. Free or demo software would be best as this might be the only time i need to use it. Any reccomendations would help, i'll be running it with Peak on a Mac.

Thanks

If you can get your hands on a PC or Parallels etc, you can download a free demo of Adobe Audition. They have a built-in plugin that can extract vocals out of a stereo mix really well.

If peak has a stereo widener plugin, you could try that. You are at the mercy of the original mix, the only thing these vocal removers do is get rid of the center information. If the vocal is doubled and panned, there is nothing you can do.

Alesis makes a box for under $99. I know it's not a DAW plugin, but it is out there.
Check your mix in mono.
