Key input for a gate using Cubase SX2

Post by andyg666 » Tue Oct 24, 2006 11:35 am

I am mixing a demo for my hip-hop band. Unfortunately, we did not record to a click, so I'd like to use the kick drum track as a key input to trigger a gate to open on a secondary kick drum or subwooferish type of sound. Does anyone know of any plugins that can accomodate this in Cubase SX2?

Havent tried it yet but maybe it will be of some help to you...

Its a work around because the VST archetecture in versions up to Cubase SX 3 didnt accomodate sidechaining. Apparrently the new spec (VST 2?) Has the ability for this kind of routing... Plug in manufacturers will hopefully take advantage!
