Gear you would never sell: no mistakes
My 78 P Bass. Yes, it weighs a ton, but it sounds so good with those Fender 1965 reissue pickups in it.
I probably wouldn't sell my Gibsom Thunderbird. Yet.

my early seventies Fender Telecaster Custom with a hybrid Tele/Jazzmaster bridge and a Fender "F" Bigsby vibrato tailpiece.
i bought it for $350 in 1984.
some nutjob had put a brass nut and flatwound .013s on it!
i modded the fuck out of it back in the 80s before it became collectable, but i bought it to use and not as an investment.
it still plays and sounds beautiful!
i also won't ever sell my made-in-Kansas Ross Phaser Distortion!

i'll never sell...
my J45, my advanced jumbo (when i have it ) and a custom Epi/Gibson Excellente i'm thinking about to when i have 8000 bucks worth of pocket change...
i tried selling my oktavas a while ago, but to get different oktavas (weird capsules and RTT mics), so those will never leave as well..
if someone were to ask me now if i'dd ever sell my tascam 244, idd probably say:
"no!!
and i'll record to cassete as long as i live!"
but i kind of know that's me and my 25 years of age speaking and being hooked on the grit of the whole thing and what it does to the sound..i have no idea if i'll ever be able to let go of it...right now, no way!
i have a feeling that my echollete tape echo will never leave either, as soon as i gather the patience to fix it.

I did some serious swapping this year, and I'm happy with my current set of gear, but really nothing is completely sacred.
That being said, here's my partial list:
Sovtek MIG 60 head
Tascam 238s
Tascam Porta One
Oktava mod mics (319, ML52, soon to add 219)
SIB Varidrive, Fatdrive
New G&L ASAT Special (Tribute series- still rocks)
My current Jerry Jones collection (2 baritones, 1 longhorn bass)
Original Mackie 1202 (I can't tell you how useful it is for theater stage work- it's the audio leatherman)
Groove Tubes Ditto Box

what mods did Michael perform on your ML52..i'm very curious and interested. the 52 doesn't have a great rep i guess, and most people avoid it on vocals...did the mod turn it into what one would expect of a great ribbon?
i'm curious about those guitars as well...jerry jones, doesn't that relate to the tv jones pups? but the longhorn and bariton make me think danelectro...

the very very last two things I would ever sell are my '62 jazzmaster LPB with gold hardware, and my '53 Epiphone Triumph Regent with aftermarket floating pickup.
Next on the list would be my '61 6G4-A Fender Super Amp, my '73 Minimoog Model D, my red Farfisa Organ, My original turkish K Zildjian cymbals, my '66 Slingerland Radio King snare.
I think that's the stuff I definitely would never let go. I have plenty of other things that I couldn't imagine ever parting with, but if the right thing came along I might be persuaded. Like I have this '65 Deluxe that I love, but if the right Deluxe came along that sounded better (it's possible) I might off this one. There's plenty of other stuff like that.
Or I might just go crazy one day and sell it all, get one great guitar and one great amp and be done with it!
