EV PL10 for kick?

Has anyone tried this? How did it sound?

Tried it and hated it but you may very well have a different sense of aesthetic than I have... or a different sounding drum... or be going for something entirely different. It only takes a few minutes to set up and listen... and a couple of additional minutes if you feel you should tear it down and try/use something else so you might want to give it a go if you have one handy.

I once had an EV PL9 sitting near a bass drum during a recording session and it yielded the phattest sound. I'm glad to have run across this Post cuz I just found my PL9 last night and am going to put it on the house kit's bass drum! You might want to find and try a PL9...
