If only I knew how to post pics...but anyway, this is the current collection.
The good and the useful:
Neumann USM 269
Neumann M147
Neumann 184 (Pair)
Marshall V69 (Pair)
Shure 57
Shure 58
Dukane 7A65 (same as Shure 55 with the art deco shape and ridges, originally sold under Dukane name as part of PA package.)
The low-rent strangeness:
Telefunken D9A. Cuuuute bakelite mic from 1950es home recorder.
ITT supercheap plastic stereo mic from my second cassette deck when I was 16 (I am 46)
Genuinely odd-looking Aiwa dynamic from a 1960es reel-to-reel machine I had.
...there's always room for more
CC.

I will get in on the super giant photo posting game....
this is just a pic of a few of the tube mics and a couple of random ones. The three M49's are not shown, the U67,the 269, the FET47,TLM170 chrome...... LOTS of them missing. Check the Studio G website below in my sig, go to "gear" and check out the microphones section. Lots of fun pics there....

Re: scrap wood walls?
The "backdrop" is just the wall at Studio G Brooklyn.StateStreetStudio wrote:I'm curious about the backdrop.
The whole live room has a ton of random wood, placed randomly everywhere.
Diffusion.
Works well. We also used terra cotta tile on the floor (unglazed) and the ceiling has soft, multiple "cells" and levels...
It sounds good. Tuned by "ear." Each time i had to keep notching drums at 600 (for example) I would treat that range.... I finally have it feeling good to me.

Yeah, I was gonna ask about that wall! Too cool, I'm going to steal that from you. How long has it taken to get the room "right?"
VSR600, what a well-rounded locker. It's close to my [reasonably attainable] ideal as well.
That Daking console is fucking beautiful. If I had it I think I would overtrack every song with five guitars and a gospel choir, just to use the channels.
