I LOVE the SPL transient designer. You dont hear talk about them very much these days, but they totally rule. For lots of very amazing compressor tricks that just WORK without a zillion knobs, these things KILL.
We have the four channel version. Totally great, great box. the two channel is fine as well... or half as fine...
I am always surprised that nobody around here talks about these things. One of the more creative mix tools out there. Makes a distressor seem "tame" for sure...
The simple fact that you can completely turn one mic into the drum mix, even the hat mic or the kick mic, or one overhead.... pretty powerful stuff. such an amazing tool.
