Why settle for just 1 option?
We have mic collections- it's great we can finally start an acoustic baffle collection!
I have both a modtrap and a SE reflexion so far, and actually I'm liking the SE Reflexion in the front (standard) and the modtrap behind... a great vocal booth.
I think the RealTraps would be awesome as well if you're not in a small room (like I am).... however, the size would be an advantage for baffle coverage. I bet it would sound great as a baffle for a guitar amp.

i'm not trying to be a turd, but that thing is ugly. i mean, i wouldn't mind singing into it, but i can't imagine setting up a client behind this giant black gobo contraption. i know it's a petty thing, but the reaction from clients can't be discounted. the SE is sexier. i don't think they'd like the look of the PVB. is it just me?idylldon wrote:This is new from Realtraps:

i can't see either of them being all that comfortable for singers. seems like having that wall right in your face would make it harder to relax. i'm not a singer though, so who knows.....Jon Nolan wrote:i'm not trying to be a turd, but that thing is ugly. i mean, i wouldn't mind singing into it, but i can't imagine setting up a client behind this giant black gobo contraption. i know it's a petty thing, but the reaction from clients can't be discounted. the SE is sexier. i don't think they'd like the look of the PVB. is it just me?idylldon wrote:This is new from Realtraps:

You could always place glow in the dark star stickers all over them and turn out the lights. Then one would have the feeling of singing in space.Recycled_Brains wrote:i can't see either of them being all that comfortable for singers. seems like having that wall right in your face would make it harder to relax. i'm not a singer though, so who knows.....

Here's the working class alternative.

I made one it works great for vocals and voiceover, I need to get crafty and find a way to mount it to a mic stand though.
I have some ideas.

ok so it looks like you can get the
modtrap
STUDIO "B" KIT for 280.00
the RealTraps - Tri-Corner for 250-$300
and the SE electronics for $300.
as of now it looks like i will go with either the realtraps or the modtrap studioB kit.
if i could only try both of them and see how they compare against eachother.
