Post by Kilroy » Tue Mar 13, 2007 3:51 pm

hey, im writing a paper for a class. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a book or two regarding absorption. Im looking to learn about some of the math, and i guess, i dunno. Kinda not sure what direction im going to go really. Just looking to get started and hopefully figure that out when i read up about it. Thanks dudes.

Hi there,

The first place to start for an introduction is, imho, Ethan Winer's acoustics FAQ.

Probably the definitive book on the topic is F Alton Everest's Master Handbook of Acoustics.

Lastly, Bob Gold's listing of absorption coefficients of various materials will likely be useful to you.
