Tape repair in Twin Cities?
For the Minnesotans on this board, any good experiences with open reel tape machine repair locally?
I don't need anything immediately, but good to line up your support before you need it....

They charge 100 per hour but are highly regarded.

the good guys are crap
they are expensive, take forever to get a job done, and milk the bench time
i've seen work where they do band-aid repairs at THEIR discretion, to save the hassle of doing the real work when the CUSTOMER asked for the real deal...only to have to redo the job at the CUSTOMERS expense, again, several months later
i know a guy who dropped off an adat for routine maintainence. it was a back-up unit, so not super important...but he got the runaround for over A YEAR to get his shit serviced. he tried to pick it up several times, as the time in queue was so unreasonable, (he was originally quoted four weeks) and THEY WOULDN"T GIVE HIM HIS OWN PROPERTY BACK! he had to raise hell several times to get back
i've heard a rhodes they tuned...
i don't even want to get started.
imho, stay away from the "not so good" guys.

Good Guys not so good
I had QSC amp at Good Guys. After 6-8 months of no action, I started to complain. I got the amp back after over a year, and it was not repaired!!!
And they charged me. Never again. The worst service ever.
