I just asked them about it and this is what they said:

"We do the analog stages and we can put our clock in there as well for
an additional $150.00. Price without the clock is $235.00"

Cool

That is not bad. So $385 with clock. I use an external clock with it, but I'll have to start saving my pennies for the analog stages- although they are fairly neutral they can get harsh sometimes.

I was talking to chuckfurok the other day about this and he said he'd heard that if you use the behringer you cannot bypass it's clock.

Does anyone know anything about this?

I may have misunderstood what was being said.

So then if I were to get my 001 Black Lion Modded with the new clock, and I were to later send the Behrenger in for it's mod, I would have no need to alter the clock on the ada8000?

not quite. If you're recording from the ADA8000 you'll need to slave the 001 to the ADA8000's clock via ADAT. You could have both clocks done, or just do the ADA8000 and have it always operating as clock master.

I must admit, I'm curious to hear how this cheapo box sounds after BLA have gotten their hands on it. Having my 002 modded was money very well spent.

I run a Digi002r w/dbx386(2ch pre - spdif). I allways clock to the dbx. I noticed that the hi-end is much cleaner then clocking internally to the 002r. I picked up a behringer (I swore not to buy anymore behshittier gear, but got one for $100 at GC, I really needed more channels for a upcoming gig). But the behringer only works if I clock to it. The pres are pretty standard(shitty) just like the pres in my older beh mixer. But for the price I payed, it allows me to cut 18 tracks vs 10. So I just deal with it, for now.
My ada8000 gets pretty hot.

There's some good info here about doing some mods to the ADA8000, especially the power supply because it seems to have some issues.

I currently use an ADA8000 that is slaved to an 002 via ADAT. I have seen a number of posts on this and other forums stating that the ADA8000 must be the master. In my experience the ADA8000 works fine as a slave. Provided you run lightpipe cables to both the in and the out...

After reading this thread, I guess I will try out clocking the 002 to the ADA8000. Am I reading correctly? The opinion is that the ADA8000 clock should be more accurate than 002 clock?

Nic.
