Tascam 388 track sheets?

Post by klangtone » Tue Apr 10, 2007 12:11 am

This seems like something that should exist out there.
I'm looking for a track sheet template for the Tascam 388.
Meaning something you can print out that has an outline of the mixer layout such that you can mark down your mix settings for future use.

Anyone got anything?

If not, I might have to make something...

nope. not in the manual. you'd have to make something yourself.

You can also document the settings with a digital camera.

Page 26 of the 388 manual http://marjorie-plastille.com/ has a good size drawn image of an individual channel strip. manipulating that in a program or just physically copying and and cutting together a master sheet from xerox's might work for your (our) needs...

screw that... i did it myself from scratch!

I used Microsoft Visio.
I uploaded a pdf version here:

http://www.thehabitat.info/Tascam388_TrackSheet.pdf

It's 11x17. Hopefully people can deal with that. And hopefully your printers won't cut off the edges. It works fine on the printers at my work, but the copy machines at work cut it off a little.

I also uploaded a jpg and a Visio version:

If you have Visio, you can modify it yourself.

Let me know if you have any comments, good or bad.

One thing that would be cool is to have a section on the back where you could notate what you have hooked up to the EFF send/return and so forth.
But I figure for now, you can just write that kind of stuff in the Notes section.

share the love,

Roy

Damn Tone, you went all out. How long did it take? If you don't have any usage laws binding, I'm going to go ahead and download me a copy :D

I don't think the OP really wanted/made traditional "track sheets" as such.

He was looking for a graphic organizer/template to mark mixer settings, but as posted, you can just take a "pitcher" nowadays...

Totally unrelated to the original post but I love looking at how stuff got put down on these track sheets. Lots of cases where the drums are just are mixed to two tracks or tracks for kick and snare and then a stereo pair for the rest of the kit.
I worked this way in my 8 and 16 track days but got away from it in Pro Tools. I've been working on a soundtrack project on a 488 and have gone back to drums mixed to 1 track. These track sheets remind me that it can be done and done well.

Are you looking for a recall sheet with mixer recall settings like what the 2007 OP really wanted or a traditional track sheet that’s just tracks 1-8 with time notations and stuff?
