New Pre-Fab Studio.

I'm thinking about getting one of these and using it as a control room behind my 1 room studio...

Nice. 12' x 20"??? It would suck if it wasn't there in the morning, though.

I think that the San Cristobal sytle would make a lovely control room, especially in Los Angeles.

Wow, that's cool I have really been trying to figure how to add on lately. I thought it would bee too crazy but this might make it easier. How high are the ceilings?
It may be a garage, but it doesn't sound like one.

its a neat idea but does anyone think its weird that they are making these "studios" with square dimensions?

I don't think they intended for them to be used as audio studios.

Some of those dimensions are 1:1 or 2:1 and should be avoided. The 12 by 16 and 12 by 20 sizes aren't too terrible.

There are lots of cool providers in the detached "addition" category.

http://www.rocioromero.com/ has cool stuff, not cheap.

Target reps a line of really cool rooms like this designed by Michael Graves, some were not rectangular or cubed. Manufactured by Lindal, a well known prefab house company. Cheaper than Romero
