Nice. The hype that thing has gotten as a drum squasher is very true. I actually like it on vocals and snare drum too. Not as transparent as my DBX 160 but I use it to be 'not transparent'. That limiter section can crush stuff.

Just won another Allison Research Gain Brain card (version 1) on e-bay. I've got a rack with 1 GB and 5 Kepex gates. I'm slowly trying to find more GB cards and weed out the gates.
The original Gain Brains have to be one of my favorite drum comps ever.

My boards just came in for a pm Fairchild 670.
It's a HUGE job that's just beginning but it still feels like I bought something new.
It'll feel like I stole it when i'm done though

Silvertone 1484 head & cab. Also, a sweet Univox early 60's combo.
My collection of nice sounding tube amp grows!

My gain brain just arrived in the mail. It seems to work fine but the meter is dead. On closer inspection I see that someone has pulled a bunch of transistors out of the meter circuit. Fuckers.

Dang it....went past a small guitar shop last night so I popped in. They had a little Silvertone 1481 which I picked up for $85. Not a real steal but a pretty decent deal. It sounds quite nice.
