A friend of mine bought a new Vox Tonelab Le a few months ago, never read the manual, tried it for a few minutes and put it back in the box. We went to banjo center a couple months ago, and they offered him a few beers for it. I offered a few more and today I got it. I'm reading the manual, and with all of the crapola I have to put in front of it, and insert, this thing is going to be a bunch of fun for squat
Edit: Now I have a review. Just as background, I have as hardware emulators a JD-10, J Station, and fully loaded line 6 kb37. Hardcards, powercore and uad...all good stuff. Old tube amps and SS. I studied the nice PRINTED manual in the round hole office for a couple of days, and when I turned it on, it was like using the best tube amp I've ever had, within a few minutes I had my early silverface vibrolux (blackface) reverb dialed in. Then I went to the vox 30 TB I had in the early years. A bit of tweaking and I had my first Gibson tube amp, then the Silvertone. It sounds nice on phones and comes out just fine through a small Crate keyboard amp. I don't really have enough room in my rv to uncork the vibrolux, but I'm thinking it will be a good thing. I'll get it plumbed into the studio this weekend, but I just can't imagine a letdown. Seems very real to me, especially amped up (just mono so far)...the monitors will tell the tale...anyone else have an opinion...no need to agree

"Monica"
Customized by the outstanding Genius Thomas Kelly, in Santa Barbara CA.
2009 Mexican Stratocaster.
Suhr "Fletcher / Landau" pickups... now named Mike Landau.
Oil Painting done by Autumn Rain Turkel.
This Strat truly sounds like a Strat. It was stripped down to take off the nasty HEAVY finish which is used on all Strats today. THis along with some Mojo from Thomas makes this guitar SING. I'll try to post a few chords and licks when I can.
A pro guitarist friend of mine went with me to pick it up yesterday, and when I plugged it into a 1965 Fender amplifier and played a +11 chord : He shouted:
"Instant Jimi"!!!

Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

Sweet. I loved my old Tascam 520!timh wrote:
Picked up my M-520 from SF yesterday! BUT got 3 hours towards home and realized i forgot to grab the power supply off the guys' table. It is so frustrating having this thing here staring at me....and I cant even turn it on. So I have to wait 2-3 weeks before I go back up and grab it.
Don't forget the internal "trim/gain" pot.Recycled_Brains wrote:Fulltone Supa-Trem.
LOVE this pedal. Wanted one for years, but for whatever reason, haven't picked one up until this week. Must've played it 10x at the guitar shop.
All I need now is a good reverb to go with my JMP, and I'll be pretty damn happy with my rig.
Fantastic pedal!
I just sold an Ovation guitar (I had two of the same model, but modding one for Crafty tuning never panned out.) Most of the proceeds are going to amp service on the two old Traynors and a piano tuning. Also bought an electric chain saw for light pruning duty around the house.
The extravagant gear purchase thus far is a pair of 5" full range speakers to build something along the lines of a pair of Auratones....

Pretty lofty stuff... nearly $4 per speaker!
Cheers,
Otto
