How do you like the Tascam? I had one years ago... it was pretty fun...

I have only used it so far to transfer stuff to digital. I got for free so I am still figuring out how to work it into the system. Next purchase will be a board and more patchbays. However I did use this machine when it was at a friends studio and it was really fun to hit hard with drums.

FREE!!! nice... I used it with a soundcraft board and it was a pretty cool toy to do drums n stuff on... gotta say the noise reduction was useless though.

Agreed, the noise reduction sucks. The times I tracked with it at my friends studio I didn't find the amount of tape hiss to be to bad.

I used to have two of those, and they sounded nice. Very smooth.

some of those Yamaha dual-manual home organs are just re-purposed boards from their combo organs. If you open it up, you may find that the cabinet is totally empty except for the speaker and be able to chop it with a minimum of effort. Still not exactly a lightweight, but a lot better than dealing with that cab!

I am thinking that this would be the case for this model as it is not as exceptionally featured as other models. However I've already got a far superior combo organ (Yamaha YC-45D) if I needed it...more than likely I'd just sample either of them into my Alesis Fusion for a gig than attempt to lug them around (the combo organ I believe is close to 150 pounds).

Used Countryman Type 85 direct box. I have been getting by for years with DIs built into preamps, and a few ok direct boxes floating around the studio. since I am getting ready to sell most of my preamps and go almost totally 500 series this summer, I decided that I needed a DI that could interface with any mic preamp and sound awesome. I used the Type 85 at school in the 1990s all of the time and always wanted one. $100 seems like a score.
