An iPad 2 - my Dad is finally cleaning out his office. Anybody got a line on a good 30-pin to MIDI interface?

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
After almost a decade of hunting I have finally found a Marxophone. More specifically a mandolin guitarophone but basically the same thing.
It needs a bunch of work, the end block where the tuning pins sit has started to pull apart, it has some top and back cracks to fix and it needs new strings. It also needs to have 120 years worth of filth cleaned off of it. Still, very exciting.

I have that model, and a newer one. I wonder if one of these will suit your needs?

My older one has iStrobosoft installed, it makes a nice big tuner.

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
Guitar pickguard material. Because of course the new pickups don't fit the original.
They are those DiMarzio Dark Matter ones, which have a really nice etched metal cover. Making the pickups ever so wider.
So, tonight once it cools off here, I'll begin to clone the original pickguard, and make bigger cavities for the new pickups.
At least, the wood is ok with the new pickups, so I should not need to remove any of that.
In an Ibanez JEM JR left hand. The original pickups are way too bright / brittle for my taste.

Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

Man, I recall when those JEMs came out and were the coolest, and then when they were not cool and got really cheap, and now they are cool again and not cheap.
But then, I saw Vai with Zappa so I'm old.

Fuzz pedal from winky d., pretty cool, anuvver flava and a unique look
MXR Studio compressor - same as their Bass Compressor - great and helpful LED meter, pretty clean sound and pretty adjustable - my Bass Compressor - as they are known to do - failed
Sushibox Echosauras - cool delay pedal with 4 different analog delay lines that are preset short to long (like, 16th to 1/2 note), subtle to shoegaze - knocked the Waza DM-2 offa my guitar board
OK, now gotta set up for a 10:30 AM drum recording/writing session ...

Another '70s Matsumoku bass--this one an Epiphone ET-285, defretted & refinished in a lovely purple. The very ugly LP copy is a kit guitar. The one pickup is a Burstbucker Pro, & the guitar plays surprisingly nicely. It was cheap, & I find the ugliness appealing.

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
picked up a pair of Lauten Audio LA-220 V2's and put them up over my drum kit. So far I am liking them a lot. I'm currently running them with the HPF engaged, but the LPF open. I can see times where the LPF might be appropriate though... I got them as "refurb" and one of them was indeed marked as "repackaged" (and missing a couple of parts I would not have used anyway) but the other was brand new and sealed. Most curiously they are sequential serial numbers!
Only thing I kind of might miss is a pad, but my preamps have pads and I just backed off the gain a bit on my pres. And that's only because I was using a pair of AKG 414b-ULS up there and I had the -10dB pad engaged (as well as the pad on my preamps). I never wanted to pull them down to use for other projects (and many times needed them as the overheads at the same time) but now I can use them anytime and I feel like I might get more use out of the multi-pattern capability (where that was wasted as overheads since I always kept them in cardioid). So I almost feel like I got 2 more new mics (even though they are old).

Had one car get totaled a month ago, and my main car broke down a week ago…decided if I was gonna have only one car it shouldn’t have 279k miles on it. First new car ever. Car market is pretty stupid still right now but this is what I could get without a big wait and without a markup.
