USPS lost at least one, mebbe two pedals last year.

I have had FedEx and UPS deliver damaged boxes, but good packing saved the item (including basses and guitars).

This damaged amp came UPS. When I requested return, the shipper sent a shipping label for ...

... USPS.

This will be a trip, seeing if the PO will even accept this bulky 35lbs. box.

It was not well-packed, but I am sending it back exactly as sent.

boring, but I bought a couple 90 deg angle XLR cables (for use on rack toms w/ ATM230's). Nice and compact and won't get in the way now. I got the Telefunken brand this time, but I also got a couple cheap 6" adapters www.amazon.com/dp/B0CH2V5TCR (they seems to work OK in the studio but don't know that I'd trust them for any road work). Also just ordered a couple ProCo (angled female XLR) because I needed some shorter lengths (5' and 10') and Telefunken only has 5m or 10m and I don't need that long this time...

I think that means you have to delete some of your older pictures? even though it says "board" I think it's per user (but not 100% sure on that)

I had the same issue. I deleted a couple of pics & could not post anything new (still cannot post anything new.) I think it's a board issue.

EDIT: I posted a message to the TOMB subforum because it might get noticed a little faster over there.

Buying four right angle XLR's from Redco was a highlight purchase for me for the same reason!!! I bring them to other studios that I track in!

Something from the Sweetwater Gear Exchange. When I noticed that the neck pickup is a Seymour Duncan Custom Shop Staple P90 (which lists for more than the guitar cost), I decided to go for it. The pickup is pretty cool, as is the Gibson P90 in the bridge. The guitar itself I'm not yet crazy about--hopefully I can get it to where I really like it. (Really, I'm just posting to test that attachments are working right, which they seem to be.)

It's only my second maple fretboard (notable because I have, say, over 50 stringed axes) - it's full scale and the whammy works a treat.

The day I got it I tuned drop-D and played blues and slide for about a hour.

The body is about a inch thick, and it balances nicely.

I would stage it for a choon or two.

I think best effect would be if played Ian Anderson stylee, standing on one foot.

I mentioned several posts back that I picked up a Pearlman TM-1. Finally got to use it for a proper vocal session. Wow! it is perfect. It is exactly the sound I was looking for (chain was TM-1->Lin2A->AML 5003D->Apollo16). I have a few other "nice" mics (and at least one that was more expensive) and while they are nice, they sound different. Of course, the singer was pretty good too but I am very happy with the mic and they are really pretty reasonably priced (compared to many U47 style mics that aren't just cheap clones designed around a 12AX7).

I acquired an RCA 44-BX (untested) for an insanely good price by today's standards. Put a new XLR connector on it and it sounds great.

I seem to go through alternating waves of not buying any gear for a few years and then selling a bunch and buying some new stuff in one short burst. In the midst of that short burst right now, so I've been selling a ton of the gear I've used less over the past few years, but some cool new arrivals have happened as well to help fill out my little home studio:

- a pair of vintage Aiwa VM-17SA ribbons (basically the final evolution of Japan's overbuilt competitor to the RCA 77DX)—these sound astoundingly good.
- a Buzz Audio DBC-20 stereo diode bridge compressor—mine is a very early one with reversed meters, but aside from that quirk, this thing sounds rad.
- a decent rolling 16U rack—no more precariously stacked gear, what a blessing!
- a Neutrik TRS patchbay—still getting this wired in ($$$), but the past self who said "I don't need a patchbay at home" was a dumbass.

Assuming the rest of my Reverb/eBay listings sell, there'll be a few other upgrades on the way—maybe some new preamps, perhaps another compressor, potentially another pair of SDCs. We'll see!
