picked up a 1970's Pioneer SR-202W "reverberation amplifier".

It's a consumer device meant for home stereo use. So far I swapped out the RCA jacks (which were wonky) on the input and output that go straight to the reverb only. Put some 1/4" TS in there instead. There are also Tape A and Tape B input/output. Those RCA jacks are shot too so I may swap one out and see what the difference in sound is (if any). Also some internal lights were out - 6.3v bayonet style incandescent lights, which I have now replaced with modern LED replacements.

And that brings me to the real reason I picked it up - more than the fact that it has a real spring reverb tank - is the groovy green psychedelic light on the front - that changes (mechanically) when you increase/decrease the reverb amount. And yeah, the very short spring reverb is unique sounding too.

So far I haven't noticed an extreme amount of noise, but there are some pretty old capacitors in there so that might be my next step (if it is noisy). Had to get the jacks fixed first though.

this is not mine, but it looks just like this...

Just picked up a pair of Tannoy PBM 6.5 speakers. First listen seems pretty good!

I LOVES me my PBM 6.5's! Kinda opposite of NS-10's. Gotta make sure it's shiny on top,and bassy on bottom, then it's good. LOVE THEM! I have 2 pair, and a pair of the PBM 8's,which are very cool, but need a bigger room, and to be cranked louder to translate, which ain't happening much these days. :D

I can't yet. The HF pot on one of them felt very different (much looser/less resistance) than the others, so I had to send them back to Purple to get them matched up for feel. I didn't even rack them.

I will definitely report back though.

That EQP5 I listed came in with the worst soldering job I've seen in a long time, so now I'm on with the arduous task of having to get the seller to admit that his description of "excellent condition" is misrepresentative and to give me a refund. The hits just keep on comin'. Last time I buy something assembled that I can just build myself. /rant

Went to the thrift store to get weights to go on the bases of my straight mic stands. Saw a silver face adat machine in with the boom boxes and computer screens.
Kept on walking right past it.

That's a fascinating instrument. How does it clang? Or would you say chime?
