I like the old combo organs. I got a similar crazy Craigslist deal several years back, a Yamaha YC45D for like $50.A.David.MacKinnon wrote: ↑Tue Mar 23, 2021 12:32 pmNot new gear per say but I hacked an insert jack into the feed between my Farfisa vip 200 and it's built in amp/speaker box. Now I can run pedals through the internal amp. Currently running it through the filter of a hacked monotron. Tons of fun.
This isn't mine, just an internet pic. Mine is the same minus the drum machine. I don't have the original pedals either (which is a drag).

Sound Workshop 1280BEXT - This is the extension model (for an additional 12 channels) that was sent back to SW and modded to be a standalone 12 channel mixer. They added Sends/Returns, Master section, and a cue section. It doesn't have the Super EQ but i'm not a mix wiz so the 3 band is plenty fine for me. Sounds like beefy wonderfulness with my bass (any gear must pass this test) so i'm excited to have a proper analog console.
Tascam 238 - Holy grail of cassette recorders, i just had it serviced, i'm excited to see how it sounds tonight and this weekend recording.
Fostex 250 - In case the mixer/238 is too much i got this cheapo 4 track coming in. might just keep it for location stuff recording drums or something.

I finally found one at a sane price earlier this year. Loving it so far.markjazzbassist wrote: ↑Thu Mar 25, 2021 9:52 amTascam 238 - Holy grail of cassette recorders, i just had it serviced, i'm excited to see how it sounds tonight and this weekend recording.

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
I used a 238 for years (Alesis 1622 board and some compressors and EQ and shite), what was a good step up from a Porta 2 (both are still stored in my garage).
I so much more loved the next one, the Boss BR8, tho', gotta say.
(Next I went ITB, altho' I later bought a Yama R16 for remote recording and its is awesome - yep, digital, I know.)

Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret Mark II.
Nice pedal, and my first Catalinbread because Swervedriver.
It's a Marshall-inna-box pedal and I just did some tracks with into a CabDry and then a Shaper pedal, contrasted with some tracks with a cheap Plexion pedal, all run thru a The Brick and an a 160Xt on bypass.
The tracks sound really good, convincing even, if a little lacking in frequency dynamics* ...

Custom made desk, and a gear rack from "Output". They have a similar desk but it's way too big for my space.

Man, I can't tell you how much I like that Ikea chair.
How can it be so comfortable?
I have one without the wheels also.

Bought a Moog ep3 for $25 on Craigslist yesterday.
Ordered a kit to add an internal trunk hatch to my Honda Element - camper.
Ordered a Fuji 10-24mm lens for my camera

Very nice. How do they compare to the Mojave MA200’s?digitaldrummer wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 2:35 pmI had one of the Weird Audio W47 mod1's but I picked up another so I use them both on the kit. ohhh man. love it.

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
well I really like them in this setup, and I like it on vocals. The MA200 is great too, but a little different. I thought the W47 captures a bit more of the low end on the drums. Subtle differences in the mids too. The MA200 is cardioid only so the pair of W47's give me more options overall (since they are multi-pattern). but honestly, both mics are great.Colorblind wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 6:16 pmVery nice. A pair of JBL 305P MKII monitors. Just fits on my desktop and a real pleasure to use for both monitoring and regular music listening. Also got some ISO130 stands to sit them on.

Catalinbread Fuzz Engine.
I'm getting into this line of pedals; they remind somewhat of Zvex in that they have some extreme possibilities, but they don't have "company sound".
IOW, I think Zvex distortions are pretty identifiable as Zvex, whereas the Catalinbread pedals I have (2) are distinctly different.
This one, well, turn the fuzz up past noon and it self-oscillates like nothing I've heard.
It's on the lead guitar (jazzmaster clone into a Tiny Terror with a 1x8" Jet City cab) here (you can hear some oscillation at the very end).
Songs 1 & 3 have the Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret II DI'd. (Gear is listed on the lyric sheets, as almost always.)
I obviously found the Catbreads inspiring.
