I hope you dont have one of the models affected by the "black death". The rotting foam that napalms the PCB and al the sliders. My Realistic/Moog MG1 had that and it required a lot of cleaning and a few new pots/sliders. Either way, I love getting gear in exchange for studio time. I have a guitar and a few other items I got that way.

No foam, rotting or otherwise, on the Micromoog. The Micro is very cool for a single VCO synth--very nice sound, good modulation options, etc.calaverasgrandes wrote:I hope you dont have one of the models affected by the "black death". The rotting foam that napalms the PCB and al the sliders. .
To mr. McKinnon: should you need a noise IC, let me know. I have a spare.

I just got a new Boss RT-20 Rotary Assembly and Pigtronix Philosopher King compressor, sustainer, distortion and polyphonic amplitude synthesizer. The Philosopher King is cool but the RT-20 just rocks my world. I have just never liked modulation type effects on guitar until now. This thing just takes me to another place every time I kick it in. It does the speed up/slow down thing like a real Leslie cabinet.

wow I will have to check out that Boss guy.
I have always liked the idea of modulation effects but the periodicity of them always bugs the prefectionist in me. I want it beat synced! My solution was to destroy the obvious periodicity by running two different modulation effects. Like a chorus and a flanger, and set them very close but not too close. Then turn the effect depth down on each one individually so that it isnt very heavy. Combining them like this gives me the whoosh without the obvious "top" and bottom that you get with one.
Just a little sidebar there.
Yeah.
Right there.

I love that thing. It's great fun on vocals also.
