I think you'll love the Aurora. Best converters for the money IMO. They have such a bigger sweet spot than midrange converters, and it's so nice to not worry when you get a little spike about -.6 and feel the need to stop the take. Also, the clock really improved the sound of my 003r (to my ears anyway). Great little machine. Plus tech support is first rate. Paul at lynx helped me get a few things figured out when I swithched the firewire card out for an adat card.??????? wrote:Lynx Aurora 8, SCA N72 and J99 to add to my existing N72 and A12, Stedman Proscreen XL, sE Reflexion Filter, Radial JDI Duplex.

If you want to sell it to me, I'm kind of looking for one, hahaSean Sullivan wrote:Picked up a Sennheiser MD421 U-5...don't really need it but for $100 on Craigslist in good condition I couldn't pass it up. Seller also has a pair of Yamaha NS-10M's at a really good price that are really tempting....

Type 387 indicator lamp bulbs for my M-23 and type 47 indicator bulbs for the Traynor amps.
I now have an actual power switch button on the M-23 and here's what it looks like now that the bulbs are in place...
Also got an old Folded Line reverb tank from O.C. Electronics cheap off eBay. Probably designed for use in a guitar amp, but I just use it as a mono reverb unit powered by a mixer send and returned through a console channel with some gain.
Cheers,
Otto

On a sidenote I just said good bye to the meterbridge/jack panel of my old Pm1000. I salvaged all the useful bits for future PM1000 related projects such as my PM1000 sidecar that I have been trying to get done for like 4 years now.

I recently purchased a Phil Jones Briefcase combo bass amp. AMAZING tone, and sounds very tight and defined in the mix. It arrived with some issues, but once I get that taken care of it's going to be awesome. Highly recommended.

I was just given a Teac A2300SX and accessory kit, new in the box, unopened. Its been a lifetime since I had a reel-to-reel and have been searching the forum for advice on tape and where to buy. All I can remember from the old days was using Scotch 1.5 mil... any suggestions or links to stickies or archived threads would be greatly appreciated.
For my home studio, I recently purchased a AEA R84 DVJ, a Trinton Fet Head, a SPL Channel One. I run it into a Apogee duet and use Logic for recording voice overs.
I'd like to get a nice stereo mic and do some recordings of my friend's son's band. They have a bluegrass quartet, and other friends that have acoustic bands of varying influences. They have had a hard time buying their own equipment to record demo's with just to send to clubs, etc. Not looking to make any money at it, just the fun of recording live music.
