Latest gear you've acquired.....
Just took delivery onna Ebog-bought Tiny Terror.
Hmmm. I have a jam at 6:00, I'll get home at 5:30 with just enuff time to pack and leave.
Good, tho'. My latest guitar-jamming buddy has been using a solid-state Marshall half-stack - sounds like gangrenous dog dick; I reckon I'll bring the TT for him tonight!

My first foray into the world of analog synths, a Korg MS-20 Mini:
And possibly my favorite acoustic guitar I've ever played, a Martin D-18:

That Martin looks sweet and I bet it plays even better. Just got an RNC off a forum member. I don't have much experience with hardware compressors, but it seems pretty cool so far. I think I need something that's more obnoxious too though.jgimbel wrote:My first foray into the world of analog synths, a Korg MS-20 Mini:

Just got a VHT Special 6 combo tube amp.
Point-to-point wiring, 6v6 and 12ax7. It has a blackface-style tone stack that can be bypassed for a more tweed-like sound. It has high and low (half) power settings, so you can play quietly and still get the tone you want, though I must say it sounds better and breaks up more on the high setting. Still, it's a useful and good thing.
Everything about it seems really high quality, with the exception of the Chinese tubes-- I replaced the 12ax7 with an RCA, and it went from, "this is nice", to "this is awesome!". RCA 6v6 is on its way.
Got it mildly used, for $150, but at $250 new I think these are a steal. That's less than you'd pay for a 5f1 kit, and this does more! Stands up well compared to my 57 Champ (not a reissue) but it's definitely a different sound-- more aggressive.
I looked at reviews online before deciding to buy... I don't think I've ever seen such overwhelmingly positive reviews for any piece of gear before. Looks like they've been making these since around 2010. I'm actually surprised these have been around that long... I don't see how there's much room for profit.
Anyway, I'd highly recommend this amp for recording or gigging without a drummer.

I was looking at that, and the Nightrain, and the little Blackstar.
You know, mebbe for replacing my mic addiction ...
I decided it and the Blackstar was just a little under-powered for me at this point, and I got a better price on the Terror than I could onna Nightrain, so ...
Now ya got me jonesin'*.

Vowed that I don't really need anything this year, but I got my Subpac S2 (that I ordered on Black Friday) today, and a box of cords and such from Monoprice the other day.
I've only had this thing hooked up for a few minutes, so I can't make any fair judgements, other than it is a bit weird!
I bought it to use instead of a sub for mixing purposes.
