Yes. It is quite great.
Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

my partner Tim has one of those Telefunken USA M-80 dynamic mics. The thing sounds fantastic. Had to get one for myself. Mighty good sounding microphone.

JVC SVHS recorder

Post by ampguy » Fri Apr 26, 2013 7:03 pm

Originally designed for use with TV.

Uses Hi-Fi mode, for recording audio on the whole tape.

Can use SVHS tapes which have an extra hole in them, or can use regular VHS tapes by just pressing a button. It's called "ET" mode, which probably isn't as good as using an SVHS tape, but still sounds awesome.

Has a manual and remote control.

R and L input and output RCA jacks, including a set on the front of the unit.

CAD TSM411 instrument mic is a blowout at MF today - US$30.

Gets the usual "better'n a SM57" reviews, what makes me think it's be useable on toms, guitars, wallboard nails ...

Bought a Swart Atomic Space Tone. Nice portable amp that is loud enough to gig with and reasonable for the studio. I'm happy. It's replacing a AB165 Bassman and Victoria 2 x 12" which weren't really practical for me.

I also bought some plug-ins...not exciting I know. reFuse Lowender, Waves Aphex Exciter (on sale for $82 at Plug-In Discount, plus you get a $100 Waves voucher), Softube TSAR-1, and Eventide Omnipressor. I got them at really good prices on the KVR forum.
Still waiting for a Luna reunion

Recently added a 14x10 rack tom to my Tama superstar super mahogany kit. Also just got and 18" Zildjian Platinum thin crash in addition to my 20" Zildjian Platinum crash/ride (these cymbals sound great!)

Today my brother brought our old Roland Delay to my mom's. While we were installing the folks air conditioner, we ran across a DBX163x that we forgot a friend gave us years ago. SCORE!
