Very versatile underrated compressor. I have a pair of 22s and 12s in my arsenal.

Be sure to report back on how you like it. I have a longstanding love affair with CAD mics but I haven't tried any from the Trion series yet.

Will do, I'm already using a pair of carillon axis 7s as over heads, $150 ribbons that are really quite nice. Confident Im compiling a solid array of low end mics

I also picked up a second vintage Alamo lap steel since I'm playing mine a bunch and need a backup. Identical to the one that I already own (that was previously owned by Ben Keith!).

Wow, Ben Keith as in Stray Gators/Neil Young 'Harvest' Ben Keith? Holy moley! That's quite a pedigreed instrument.

The API clone sounds awesome too!

I'm in the process of buying a Squier Musicmaster Bass from a local shop at a very nice price. Apparently they made the Squier version only in 1996-97. I'm surprised how solid and playable this thing feels, particularly for a Chinese import. I compared it with a newer Squier PBass they also had and the Musicmaster ate it for breakfast. It's almost as nice as my wife's Japanese 1959 Reissue PBass, honestly. Love the easy fingering of the short scale and the matching headstock. I'll be bringing this baby home later this week for sure.

After 5 years it's been a long overdue upgrade, can't wait until the thunderbolt card ships next month. This had better last 5 more years, I had to give up some nice analog gear for it:

Just installing and dealing with upgrades and incompatibility issues with programs for now- the retina macbook pro is very nice. I did a quick install and setup of the ua system and it was quick and painless (unlike reaktor). Simple and straight forward.
The thunderbolt connection is what is going to really send this thing over the top as it relies on bandwidth....as I understand it. There's allocation control and metering for it. One thing is certain, it really does have a warmer, more detailed sound than the rme fireface 400 sitting next to it. It is apparent immediately when switching back and forth, and the rme is killer itself. No regrets yet... we will have to see if the software vog etc. can stand up to the hardware versions...
