I've been following this on the Raw Material board...seems like T3 is working great, and there is already a huge downloadable bugfix patch available. I'm planning to buy the download upgrade...very excited to rock both cores at last!

Is there an upgrade path from Tracktion 2? Can't figure it from the site.

The dual proc support should really help.

You have to log in to your mackie account, which you will have if you registered t2. And then there will be an upgrade available message to click on.

I'm really looking forward to this too. I'm finally going XP from 2k just so's I can run the Ultimate Bundle upgrade from T2.

I don't get their pricing scheme. I guess it's like digidesign, sorta. they're a "hardware company"? you can buy tracktion 3 from sweetwater for 250 or you can buy this interface http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LinkFW4x6/ for 199 and it comes with tracktion.

it doesn't appear to be a limited version of it either. Or is it?

that would be probably tracktion 2 that comes with that interface tho I'm not at all sure. It is probably just the core application of Tracktion 2, which IS still a very good program all by itself.

The street pricing for Tracktion 3 (the latest version) is:
$69 for an online upgrade of the core application from Tracktion 2 to Tracktion 3
$99 "project bundle" of T3= core app, plus a bunch of limited extra vsts/vstis, loops, etc
$199 for an upgrade from Tracktion 2 to Tracktion 3 "ultimate bundle" with more complete versions of the vsts/vstis, loops etc
$249 for Tracktion 3 "ultimate bundle" for non Tracktion 2 owners, with more complete versions of the vsts/vstis, loops etc

If I were just getting into Tracktion I'd go for the Tracktion 3 project bundle at $99. Thats a pretty killer price for a great DAW when you compare it to its competitors IMHO.

On the same note, I've been waiting for the 1200f to be available for quite some time...

A couple weeks Musicians Friend sent me the project bundle instead of a Ultimate Upgrade as they'd mis-barcoded the box. They picked that up on their dime the next day but still have not shipped the right box because they are in the midst of changing warehouses.

Oh well, I'm taking this opportunity to archive off all my old T2 projects.

T2 is great, i'm looking forward to the loops and collapsible track folders in T3 especially.

I dont want to hear about Damn MACKIE!!! spending time on anything but fixing f400 drivers, thoose bastartds. I have been waiting for a year for drivers to link two f400 together, all they have are beta drivers that make everything worse. Ok i'm done, wait... I hate you Mackie!!!... ok now I'm done.

I'm beginning to wonder if they bit off more than they could chew with all the supposed features and I/O on the 1200F, all being pushed through a firewire cable?
I've checked their site every month for the past half-year and it still says "Coming Soon"... hmm?

400f drivers are supposedly very, very, very soon...like this week soon...at least according to the mackie people on forums.mackie.com...

I have T3 running smoothly on my laptop...very nice! It loaded my old T2 projects almost perfectly, save for one WAV it couldn't find. For some reason. 30 seconds to show it the way, and I was golden.
