adding a subwoofer

Post by patternagainstuser » Tue May 29, 2007 5:33 pm

hello. did some tracking at another dude's studio last week and realized what a difference having a subwoofer makes for that 'wow' factor on playback. i want to add one to my setup, but i have a few questions. first off, i am using wharfedale diamond pro 8.2 actives. i did some looking around, but i couldn't find a matching wharfedale sub.. does anybody know if they made one?

either way, do y'all have any suggestions as to good subs to compliment my setup? doesn't have to be a monster, my room isn't huge and i'm not recording hip-hop. i'm thinking about the yamaha hs10w because i might eventually upgrade to their hs80 monitors... $500 is my limit. thoughts?

I have the Tannoy ts12 and like it quite a bit. I don't have it very loud, just enough to make up for the NS10's I'm using... It took me quite a few mixes to dial it in, but it's great.
