Best replacement burner for G4 tower?

My burner took a crap.. I need a replacement.. What burners work best, last the longest ect....Thanks, Ian

Any Pioneer DVR series from Newegg ... usually about $30 bucks. If you get one of the latest, you'll have to use Patchburn to patch the driver to the OS (since Apple never includes drivers for the absolute latest Pioneer "superdrives" with their OS):

I just got a new Pioneer DVR-112D dvd-rw drive a few days ago from OWC and altho I can't vouch for it's longevity, I can say this thing is a fast mother when it comes to burning discs...It was the more expensive of the few that were compatible with my G4, but I figured it's worth it. Hope that helps.

I've always relied on Plextor drives, but haven't kept up with comparisons either. They cost more, but have always been good to me.

Stick with something from OWC if you want to boot your mac from the sys disk.
